KBPF is a Delhi based Non – Government organization registered under the societies act in the year 1997 with its registered offices in Delhi.
The organization was started by Mrs. K. Satyavati, the mother of Mr. K. Bhanu Prakash, and by Mr. K. Gnyandeep, the elder brother of Mr. K. Bhanu Prakash. The foundation’s focus has been in the education sector with the aim to provide education to largely underprivileged children in our society. The foundation also offers scholarships to meritorious students of The Modern School, Vasant Vihar, the alma mater of Bhanu Prakash.
Since inception in 1997 the foundation has been working in the areas of education and skill development of various under privileged children. Education is a birthright for everyone. We believe that education is the first step to move ahead.

K. Bhanu Prakash (Born: July 1969) studied at the Modern School, Vasant Vihar, New Delhi, India. In May 1986, he wrote the class 12 Board Examinations. Soon after the examinations, the School organized an excursion to Mussorie. Their bus unfortunately met with a serious road accident on 20 May 1986 and fell precariously on to a terraced field before plunging down into a steep valley. The bus carried 31 students and 2 teachers. Bhanu and the driver took up the task of evacuating all the trapped students before the bus plunged into the valley. In the process Bhanu and the driver got caught in the bus which hurtled down resulting in their deaths.
Bhanu was an exceptionally bright student. He was a brave, courageous boy and had great leadership qualities. He had helped all his classmates get out of the bus before trying to save himself.
In his memory, The Bhanu Memorial Topper Award was instituted by his family through this charitable trust, K Bhanu Prakash Foundation, for promoting educational excellence.
The foundation also took up other activities in the field of education, to commemorate the memory of Bhanu Prakash.
Students with superior abilities contribute towards the growth and prosperity of society. It is the mission of the Trust to ensure that no such talent goes waste and to provide enabling facilities in the form of financial assistance, mentoring, guidance, and encouragement. To educate all students to the highest levels of academic achievement.
Millions of Children in India do not go to school. Working in dangerous circumstances, surviving on the street, facing hunger and poverty. The foundation provides free education to many such underprivileged children who cannot afford tuition fees.
Providing books and stationery to EWS students in various government schools. KBPF also provides medicines, food and footwear to various under privileged children studying at local government schools. In a new initiative, KBPF is seeking to provide these students with laptop computers or Android tablets to enable them to study in today’s environment of WFH.
The KBPF has provided funds for building a library, class rooms, multipurpose hall and other infrastructure in various Municipal Schools in Gurugram and Manesar.
During the pandemic Bhanu Foundation has distributed several Face Masks and Hand Sanitizers to vendors at Vegetable Markets, Slums and some villages.
